Robert Ingersoll
Larry "Gator" Rivers, a man who touched countless lives as a beloved member of the Harlem Globetrotters and a dedicated public servant in our cherished city of Savannah, Georgia. As I reflect on Gator's extraordinary journey and the profound impact he made on our community, I am honored to share with you the establishment of the GatorBall Academy Foundation, a heartfelt endeavor that aims to carry forward his remarkable legacy.
Through his passion for basketball, his unwavering commitment to uplifting others, and his devotion to our city, Gator became a beacon of hope and inspiration for people of all ages. His infectious energy, determination, and larger-than-life spirit continue to resonate within our community, and it is this enduring love for Gator that led me to create the GatorBall Academy Foundation.
Our mission is to collaborate with and support local charities and organizations in Savannah, fostering positive change, and enhancing the quality of life for those in need. By focusing on initiatives related to health, education, and personal growth, we aim to honor Gator's dedication to sportsmanship, community service, and empowering others to reach their full potential.
As we launch the GatorBall Academy Foundation and prepare for the upcoming Gator Rivers Inaugural Celebrity Golf Classic, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support from our community and beyond. I cannot think of a more fitting way to celebrate Gator's life and contributions than by coming together in the spirit of camaraderie, generosity, and goodwill that he embodied throughout his life.
On behalf of the GatorBall Academy Foundation, I welcome you to join us in Savannah, GA for this special event, as we remember and honor the remarkable man who inspired us all. Together, we will ensure that Gator's legacy lives on, uplifting and inspiring future generations to make a difference in the world, just as he did.
Thank you for your support and belief in our mission. We look forward to sharing this unforgettable experience with you and continuing Gator's extraordinary work in the city that he loved so dearly.
